With college football getting underway this weekend, writers are unveiling their preseason predictions right before the games get started. Ralph Russo is the latest to do so.

Russo, the AP's national college football writer, released a full season preview today. He picked conference champions, a Heisman winner and of course his college football playoff choices.

Three of Russo's picks are popular ones: Alabama, Clemson and Washington. His fourth team is Michigan, which certainly has the talent to make the playoff, but must endure a brutal schedule.

Russo seems to be a Harbaugh believer. He has Michigan topping Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game and finally getting to the playoff.

Russo also likes Dabo Swinney to take down his alma mater in the title game for the second time in three seasons.

  • Cotton Bowl: Alabama (1) vs. Washington (4).
  • Orange Bowl: Michigan (2) vs. Clemson (3).
  • National title: Clemson over Alabama.

We'd certainly sign up for Alabama-Clemson IV, with the national championship at stake no less.
