The fired Baylor coach is helping out.
Fired Baylor head coach Art Briles is helping out a college football team this season.
Briles' son, Kendal Briles, is the offensive coordinator at FAU under new head coach Lane Kiffin.
Kiffin and Kendal reportedly reached out to the former Bears' coach for some advice about the offense.
“Obviously, he has ideas,” Kendal Briles said, per the Sun-Sentinel. “He wants to know personnel and different guys and making sure we’re getting those guys in the right spots and getting them touches and all that stuff. He’s a football coach, that’s all he’s ever been. He’s definitely involved and we talk daily.”
Kiffin said he's spoken to Art Briles multiple times over the years and that he'll text or call him every once in a while.
Art Briles' offensive genius cannot be denied. He spent 13 seasons at Houston and Baylor and consistently had one of the best offenses in the country.
FAU opens its season on Saturday, Sept. 1 against Navy. The game will be televised on ESPNU at 8 p.m. E.T.
