The Tigers' top recruit won't be playing in 2017.
Auburn will be without one of its top recruits this fall.
According to a report by AL.com, Tigers' four-star signee Alaric Williams has been declared academically ineligible.
Williams won't be suiting up for Auburn this season.
Instead, he'll be going the JUCO route.
Auburn running back signee Alaric Williams has not qualified academically and will head to junior college, AL.com has learned.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Williams has already signed papers with Garden City Community College in Kansas. He had been committed to Auburn since before his junior season and signed with the Tigers in February.
Williams, a 6-foot, 195-pound prospect out of Ashville, Ala., was ranked the No. 10 athlete in the country by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
He was someone who could have played either running back or wide receiver for the Tigers this season.
