Oklahoma's football program has been incredibly blessed at the quarterback position over the past two years. The Sooners, of course, were led by Heisman Trophy-winning QB Baker Mayfield last season. This year, former five-star recruit Kyler Murray is under center.

Murray has looked incredibly good through two-plus games. He's thrown for nearly 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in the game against Iowa State today.

NFL analyst Matt Miller weighed in on Murray's recent success by asking a scout if there are now any concerns about Mayfield.

"I text an area scout, 'Does watching Kyler Murray make you wonder how much of Baker's success was coaching?' Reply: 'I'd be shitting bricks right now.'"

Mayfield saw this tweet. He responded. "Lincoln is the best coach in the country. But you’re ignorant if you think Kyler isn’t talented. Pure ignorance. Not your first take that shows your lack of actual knowledge," he responded.

Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, looked good in the preseason for the Cleveland Browns. Hue Jackson is starting Tyrod Taylor behind center in the regular season, though.

Oklahoma, meanwhile, is up 31-24 on Oklahoma midway through the third quarter.
