There was a celebration in Stillwater over the weekend, when Oklahoma State stunned West Virginia on Saturday. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, that party came to a halt because of this latest development.
It's not hard to tell that Justice Hill is the engine for Oklahoma State's backfield. After all, the junior tailback has 158 carries for 930 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
Another element of the Cowboys' rushing ability is their plethora of options. Whether it's Chuba Hubbard or J.D. King, Mike Gundy has more than enough depth.
However, that backfield will lose at least one piece to the puzzle after this year. In a surprising turn of events, King has announced he'll transfer from Oklahoma State.
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of my teammates, the community of Stillwater, and the academic and athletic staff members for the opportunity you afforded me," King tweeted out.
This is a classy message from King to the Oklahoma State community. With so many weapons for the Cowboys, it would have been tough for him to establish himself as the top option.
Now, an experienced tailback with two seasons worth of play in the Big-12 will be out there for the taking.
