While most NFL fans are talking about the top three quarterback prospects heading into the draft - Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Hebert - there is a fourth who could wind up being taken in the first round. He had a big day on Monday.
Utah State signal-caller Jordan Love had some impressive measurements at the NFL Combine on Monday. He came in at nearly 6-foot-5, 224 pounds with a hand size of 10.5 inches and a wingspan of 80 inches.
CBS Sports is calling Love the "big winner" of the quarterbacks after the measurements portion of the event. It's hard to disagree with them.
Love's hands are a full 1.5 inches bigger than LSU quarterback Joe Burrow's. Hand size isn't a perfect indicator of future success, but there's no doubt that having larger hands makes it easier to throw the football.
Love had an incredible sophomore season for Utah State, throwing for 3,567 yards and 31 touchdowns with just six interceptions. But he took a step back this past season, finishing the year with 3,402 yards and 20 touchdowns with 17 interceptions. He was a bit inconsistent as well.
Love has the talent go be one of the first 15 picks in the draft, but most mock drafts have him pegged as a late first-round pick right now. Of course, a solid week at the NFL Combine could change that.
If Love does go in the first round, we'd have at least four signal-callers in the first 32 picks this year.
