Bleacher Report Getting Crushed For 'Shameless' Travis Hunter Comment
Colorado star Travis Hunter is truly a special talent. No one will deny that fact. That being said, Bleacher Report may have gone a bit too far with its praise for the sophomore.
Hunter started this Saturday's game against UCF with a 23-yard touchdown reception. On the very next possession, UCF tied up the game with a 75-yard touchdown pass from KJ Jefferson to RJ Harvey. It was a pretty rough turn of events for Colorado.
When Harvey caught the pass from Jefferson, there wasn't a single Colorado defender near him. Hunter tried to chase him down but he couldn't close the gap.
Instead of hyping up UCF's touchdown to tie the game, Bleacher Report praised Hunter for hustling on the play.
"Travis Hunter turned on the jets to nearly stop UCF’s 75-Yard TD," Bleacher Report wrote on X.
While Hunter's determination is admirable, it doesn't change the fact that UCF scored on this play.
It didn't take long for college football fans to blast Bleacher Report's social media team for this "shameless" post.
"Nearly stop?! Have some SHAME," one person replied.
"Whoever pushed “post” on this should be removed from their position immediately," a second fan tweeted.
"This is the first missed tackle highlight I think I've ever seen," another fan sarcastically said.
"This might be y’all’s worst post ever and it’s not even one of those awful edits congrats," a fourth fan wrote.
Hunter is such an exceptional college football player, and fans are lucky to watch him on Saturdays. But moving forward it would be wise for people to hype up his actual highlights.
Can we at least agree on that?
