Bo Pelini Reportedly Has Interest In The Purdue Job

Bo Pelini reportedly has interest in going back to the Big Ten.

Bo Pelini, according to a report by 247Sports, has interest in the Purdue job.

The Boilermakers fired Darrell Hazell this past weekend, three and a half years into his tenure in West Lafayette, Ind.

From 247Sports:

As Purdue shops around for a head coach — the Boilermakers fired Darrell Hazell and his 9-33 record on Sunday — it’d be smart to remember that one Bo Pelini is eager to get back to the Big Ten.

“He would definitely be interested in this job,” a source who coached under Pelini told 247Sports this week. “I think he would make a more immediate impact more than any other guy I believe. He would change that culture real quick.”

Pelini, 48, has been Youngstown State's head coach since 2015, after getting fired by Nebraska. He led the Huskers' program from 2008-14, going 67-27. Pelini led Nebraska to nine or 10 wins in each of his seasons.

The Ohio native also played in the Big Ten, at Ohio State from 1987-90.
