One of the top recruits in the country has announced his decision to de-commit.

Tommy Eichenberg, a four-star linebacker out of Ohio, announced late on Monday night his decision to de-commit from Boston College.

The top prospect has started to blow up on the recruiting trail, receiving scholarship offers from Michigan and Ohio State.

"I have decided to reopen my recruitment. Thank you Boston College for everything," he announced.

Eichenberg talked to 247Sports about Ohio State and Michigan earlier in the month.

"I think I'm going to look at my recruitment a lot closer once the season is over," Eichenberg said. "I am planning on visiting both Ohio State and Michigan for games, since they have offered me. The Ohio State offer was a surprise, and I did not expect it. When it came in it meant something, because I'm an Ohio kid."

"I was offered by (head coach) Jim Harbaugh, and he told me that he wants me to play for him at Michigan when we spoke on the phone," Eichenberg explained. "He said he loved me as a player."

Stay tuned.
