No, seriously, there is a petition to get Brian VanGorder out of Notre Dame as defensive coordinator.

During last week's 36-28 loss to Michigan State, head coach Brian Kelly clearly yelled at and allegedly cursed out Brian VanGorder as the defense couldn't make a stop. The next day, Kelly (or whoever runs his Twitter account) 'liked' a post about firing VanGorder.

Things have been a little weird and on edge in Fighting Irish land as of late.

Fans have shown their frustration towards VanGorder all season, but now at least one fan has hit her wits end as she has officially started a petition to get VanGorder out of Notre Dame.

Here is an excerpt from the petition:

Brian VanGorder has consistently failed our Fighting Irish football team as the Defensive Coordinator. His NFL-style playbook is too complex and complicated for even our academic all stars to understand and execute. We have an explosive offense that is able to put up touchdown after touchdown, and then our uninspired defense comes in and allows our opponents to score even more. The only thing his "leadership" has inspired is our student section repeatedly chanting "FIRE VANGORDER."

The petition suggests that it will be delivered to both Kelly and Director of Athletics Jack Swarbrick.

Notre Dame is currently knotted up with Duke at 28-28 late in the third quarter.
