CBS Releases Its Week 9 College Football Top 10

As we head into Week 9, CBS Sports has updated its weekly top 25. There are a couple of major changes inside the top 10.

For one, Penn State has jumped up four spots after beating Michigan. The 11th-ranked team in last week's standings, the Nittany Lions are now No. 7.

Oregon is also in the top 10 after rallying to beat Washington. The Ducks and Nittany Lions have replaced Wisconsin and Notre Dame.

  3. Ohio State
  4. Oklahoma
  5. Clemson
  6. Florida
  7. Penn State
  8. Auburn
  9. Georgia
  10. Oregon

Outside the top 10, Wisconsin has dropped to No. 12. Boise State has fallen from 14th to 20th after losing to BYU. Michigan and Arizona State also fell six spots each.

SMU, Minnesota, Cincinnati and Wake Forest had all been bumped up three or more spots. Elsewhere, Iowa is back in the rankings at No. 25.

This weekend, we get No. 1 LSU taking on No. 8 Auburn, with third-ranked Ohio State hosting No. 12 Wisconsin. Also, Notre Dame, which is now No.11, will take on 21st-ranked Michigan in Ann Arbor Saturday night.
