CBS: These Are The 5 Worst Coaches In The Power 5

These five coaches have a lot to prove this season.

The 2017 college football season is just under four months away, and we're getting anxious. To satiate our need for college football news, CBS ranked every coach in the Power 5 from worst to best.

The criteria? Pretty much whatever the college football experts over at CBS Sports wanted. One college football expert, Tom Fornelli, released his rankings showcasing No. 65-26.

So who was among the worst college football coaches entering the 2017 season? We'll count down from No. 61 to No. 65.

5. Matt Campbell - Iowa State Cyclones

4. Barry Odom - Missouri Tigers

3. Tom Allen - Indiana Hoosiers

2. Justin Wilcox - California Golden Bears

1. Chris Ash - Rutgers Scarlet Knights

So, after a 2-10 season at Rutgers, Chris Ash is now the worst coach out of every Power 5 program. Two of the five worst coaches, Justin Wilcox and Tom Allen, are in charge of their teams for the first time, so we'll see if they truly are among the worst coaches in college football.

David Beaty, of Kansas, escaped being one of the five worst, despite a 2-10 season in charge of the Jayhawks. Also of note, no coaches from the ACC are showcased in the bottom five, while the Big Ten has two coaches on the list.
