The quarterback will be sidelined for a couple of months. Will it affect his draft stock?
Chad Kelly's NFL Draft stock might be dropping.
The former Ole Miss quarterback suffered a wrist injury during the Rebels' pro day earlier this month. Apparently that injury was serious enough to require surgery.
Kelly, a potential high-round draft pick, had surgery on Monday to repair an "acute rupture of ligament between two bones in throwing wrist." He will not be able to throw for three months.
Kelly is expected to make a full recovery and be back before training camp.
This might not end up affecting Kelly's draft status, but if a team is trying to decide between him and another quarterback, the injury could push management toward the other player.
Hopefully Kelly can make a full recovery and be ready for whatever NFL teams need him to do.
The NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, April 27.
