Texas Lost To Kansas State, The Charlie Strong Era Might Be Over Soon

Is the Charlie Strong era at Texas coming to a close?

After a one-week hiatus due to a comfortable win over Iowa State, the Charlie Strong job watch at Texas is back on. Saturday afternoon, Strong's Longhorns laid an egg against another Big 12 school with a 3-3 record - Kansas State. The Wildcats knocked off the Longhorns by a final score of 24-21, possibly cementing Strong's fate. How? Kansas State did a masterful job controlling time of possession by rushing the ball nearly 50 times.

Strong's Texas squad is now 3-4 on the season - which doesn't seem like a great improvement for a program that's won just 11 games combined the past two seasons. Many in the industry are starting to think the end is near for Strong and his staff.

If Strong does survive the weekend, he'll face a big test next week against ninth-ranked Baylor. The Longhorns also have Texas Tech, West Virginia, Kansas and TCU left on their schedule.
