Chip Kelly Is Reportedly "Interested" In The UCLA Job

Chip Kelly speaking as the head coach of the 49ers.

If the Bruins' job opens up, Kelly has interest.

Florida has been the job most mentioned for Chip Kelly, but the former Oregon head coach might be more interested in potential West Coast openings.

SB Nation is reporting that Kelly has interest in the potential opening at UCLA.

The Bruins are 5-6 this season and could make a change with Jim Mora Jr.

From SB Nation:

He’s talked with Florida, is also known to be eying West Coast jobs, and is interested in UCLA. Here are a few names Kelly’s believed to have discussed as potential assistant coaches:

  • Tosh Lupoi, currently Alabama’s outside linebackers coach, as Kelly’s defensive coordinator.
  • Mario Cristobal, currently Oregon’s co-OC/OL coach (was at FIU and Alabama during Kelly’s time in Eugene).

Kelly was asked on SportsCenter today about his potential interest in the Florida job. He refused to confirm or deny any interest, but did say the Florida job is a "great" one and that whoever gets it will be lucky to have it.
