Chris Steele is one of the best players in the entire class of 2019. As a result, he has a lot of options in front of him.

Steele, a five-star recruit and the No. 3 cornerback in the class of 2019, currently holds 44 different scholarship offers. With months until he has to have a decision, it makes sense that he is going to take his time to weigh them.

However, he has cut things down a bit. Steele is down to 14 teams, which he announced today.

UCLA, the school he had previously been committed to, is nowhere to be found. Steele is a native of nearby Bellflower, California, in the Los Angeles area.

There is also a missing school from his previous top five. Michigan is no longer one of his top programs.

The other four schools on that list—Alabama, Cal, Oklahoma, and USC—all make appearances again. They are joined by 10 more schools: Florida, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Here is Chris Steele's top 14 announcement:

In the tweet, Steele says he'll cut the list in half in three months. His full note:

"From 44 to 14... I would like to thank every University that has given me the opportunity to play for their program, it truly does mean a lot. Due to the fact that I will be enrolling into a university early, I have decided that I will be focusing on these 14 schools. This list may change as the process goes on and other opportunities are presented... #Shhh"

As he notes, and is evidenced by the constant movement in his list, anything can still happen here. USC is the early favorite to land the local five-star, with 86-percent of the votes over at 247's crystal ball so far.
