LSU vs. Louisville preview:

This is one of the more intriguing match-ups of the college football bowl season.

LSU finished the season with a statement win over Texas A&M after losing a hard-fought game to Florida. The Tigers spread their four losses across the season, after losing to Wisconsin in their opener, they lost their penultimate game to the Gators. Head coach Ed Orgeron was signed to a long-term deal and now the Tigers have something to play for - their future.

Louisville had its eyes on the College Football Playoff with two weeks remaining in the season. The bad news for the Cardinals? They faced Tom Herman and the Houston Cougars, who blew the doors off of the Cardinals in a 36-10 beatdown. Heisman Trophy frontrunner Lamar Jackson was sacked 10 times and look mortal in the loss to Houston. The Cardinals followed up that loss with another on a last-second field goal against Kentucky.

This will be the first matchup in history between these two programs.

LSU vs. Louisville prediction:

It's all about how you finish. And if you're the Louisville Cardinals, you didn't do a very good job of that. The big question here is can Louisville rebound from its last two games to play like the team from its first nine games?

Lamar Jackson is very dangerous, and could be the difference in this one.

Both defenses rank in the top 10 in scoring defense, but Jackson will do enough to break down LSU's defense.
