This week's college football slate isn't amazing, but there are a few interesting matchups. Thursday, FOX Sports radio host Colin Cowherd made some score predictions for three of the biggest contests.
Cowherd decided to predict scores for Michigan State vs. Arizona State, Iowa vs. Iowa State and Florida vs. Kentucky. Here's what he had to say about each:
On Michigan State vs. Arizona State: "I'm taking Michigan State to win and cover -14. Arizona State is starting a freshman quarterback, there will be bumps. They were not good on the road last year. The story of this game though - Michigan State just had their best offensive performance in five years. They're always about defense. They led the Big Ten last year in every defensive category that mattered.
...this is a revenge game. Last year, Arizona State, Herm Edwards, remember it? They shocked Michigan State. I think they go on and win and cover. I'll take Sparty 33-17.
On Iowa vs. Iowa State: "Upset! I'm taking Iowa State +2.5. They've won their last seven games at home. They have a young quarterback that a lot of people like. The last 10 games he's played, Iowa State, always good at home, they're 8-2. His name is Brock Purdy.
...I'm going to go Iowa State with an upset. Take the points. 30-24.
On Florida vs. Kentucky: "Love Florida. Like it? I love it. Florida's got the right coach in Dan Mullen. They've finally got the right coach and their offense is humming. They've had 500 yards have the Gators in four of their last six games with Feleipe Franks.
...I'm going to take them and that pass rush to give the backup quarterback fits. 33-23 Gators.
