Colin Cowherd Releases His College Football Playoff Prediction

Colin Cowherd talks college football.

The 2018 college football season kicks off in just under three weeks. With the start of college football nearly upon us, it's prediction time for many analysts across the country.

On Wednesday afternoon, Colin Cowherd made his playoff predictions. While two of Cowherd's picks won't surprise anyone, the FS1 host went out on a limb with his two other choices.

Cowherd likes Clemson and Alabama to make a return to the College Football Playoff this season. He also likes Penn State to come out of the Big Ten and Washington to escape the Pac-12.

Here's his explanation.

Cowherd believes the Nittany Lions and Huskies have favorable schedules. Penn State is in a five-horse race with Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin for the right to represent the Big Ten in the College Football Playoff.

Meanwhile, Washington gets a stiff opening test against Auburn. The Huskies also have back-to-back road games against UCLA and Oregon.

Alabama and Clemson seem like shoe-ins every year. Could this be the year one, or perhaps both, don't make the playoff?
