Predictions for the 2018 college football season are starting to roll in. Who are you picking to win this year's national championship?
We're starting to make some predictions, too. Let's not just make predictions for this year, though. Let's make them for the next five years.
Who is going to win college football's next five national titles?
Here are our picks.
Predicting College Football's Next 5 National Champs
2018
Ohio State brings back a lot of talent on offense and Dwayne Haskins looks like the real deal. The pro-style QB paired with an electric running back in J.K. Dobbins could give OSU the country's most-exciting offense.
The Buckeyes will win their second national title under Urban Meyer.
Prediction: Ohio State
2019
Things are starting to get a little restless in Ann Arbor, with Jim Harbaugh having lost to Ohio State - again.
The problem with the Wolverines during the Jim Harbaugh era has been quarterback play. They likely would've won last year's Ohio State game with even slightly above-average QB play.
In 2019, Michigan should finally have a really good one in Shea Patterson (assuming he doesn't leave for the NFL). He was a former top recruit and probably has the best natural ability of any of the QBs on Michigan's roster. Harbaugh will hopefully have coached him up to a top NFL prospect by 2019.
Prediction: Michigan
NEXT: The 2020, 2021, 2022 National Champions >>>
2020
This will be Dan Mullen's third season in Gainesville.
Year 3 has been a championship year for some of the country's great coaches (Meyer, Saban).
I think it'll be one for Mullen, who's offensive mind and quarterback development ability is greatly needed for a program that has little problems bringing in talent.
Prediction: Florida
2021
Justin Fields is the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the country. He's committed to Georgia.
In 2021, the five-star Fields will be either a senior or a redshirt junior. The Bulldogs, under Kirby Smart, have been recruiting (and playing) at an elite level. It's possible they win the national title this year (or any of the years to come).
I think 2021 is when it happens.
Prediction: Georgia
2022
It's been four years since Alabama won a national title (according to our predictions, anyway). That's probably too long.
So, the Crimson Tide will take home the 2022 national title, giving head coach Nick Saban his seventh national title.
