Predicting What The Preseason Top 25 For The Coaches' Poll Will Look Like In 2018

AP Poll Week 9

It may not seem it, but we're getting very close to the start of the 2018 college football season. In fact, we're just over two months away from kickoff. As such, let's take a look at which teams will be ranked highly to start the campaign.

Per usual, there will be two major preseason polls that fans pay attention to. No, the polls don't decide the College Football Playoff - or anything really - but fans still use them to gauge how their team is performing during the season.

The Coaches' Poll, in all likelihood, will debut on Thursday, August 2. The AP Poll usually comes out two to three weeks after that. So in just over a month, we'll have our hands on the first major poll of the year.

That said, we can take a pretty good guess at what teams we'll see featured on the list. Barring something drastic, Alabama is going to be the No. 1 team in the country. The Crimson Tide, despite not winning the SEC a year ago, made the College Football Playoff as the 4-seed and won both games to claim another national title.

Here's what we think the poll will look like. Many are picking Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia as the College Football Playoff favorites.

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Ohio State
  4. Georgia
  5. Oklahoma
  6. Washington
  7. Wisconsin
  8. Miami
  9. Michigan State
