Week 1 of the college football season is almost upon us and just about every team is getting hyped for the season. But a new video from one team is definitely taking that hype to another level... kind of.

FCS giants Jacksonville State released a hype video last night that has been going viral in the past 24 hours. It's hard to describe, and even to explain - but we're going to do our best.

As monks chant in the background, what appears initially to be blood drips onto the players. It's quickly revealed that it's the red and white paint that makes up JSU's uniform. The video quickly changes the style of music and shows the players getting their equipment on. Though perhaps the strangest moment is when one of the players rips his shirt off.

If nothing else, some of the clips have certainly been meme'd extensively.

No matter how they express their excitement, the JSU Gamecocks have a lot to be hyped about in 2019.

They're coming off their sixth-straight winning season and sixth-straight appearance in the FCS Playoffs. In that span they've also won five straight Ohio Valley Conference title and been a runner-up in the FCS National Championship Game.

Was Jacksonville State's hype video awesome, cringey, or somewhere in-between?
