The Spun's 2018 College Football Staff Picks: Week 5

College football Week 5 staff picks.

College Football Week 5 kicks off on Thursday night, and our staff picks contest rolls along as well.

No. 16 Miami, fresh off of a win over FIU which brought a serious quarterback controversy to Coral Gables, hosts North Carolina, which just picked up a much-needed win over Pitt.

Friday night brings an AAC battle between high-flying Memphis and Tulane, down in New Orleans, and a Pac-12 showdown between surprisingly good Colorado and surprisingly awful UCLA.

From there, we have a rematch of last year's Syracuse upset over Clemson, which will be the first career start for five-star freshman Trevor Lawrence. No. 12 West Virginia travels to upstart No. 25 Texas Tech, which dominated Oklahoma State last week. Dan Mullen returns to Starkville, No. 20 BYU heads up to No. 11 Washington, and the prime time lineup features a pair of top 10 showdowns.

At 7:30 p.m. ET, No. 9 Penn State hosts No. 4 Ohio State, a series that has had back-to-back amazing games, and No. 8 Notre Dame hosts rival No. 7 Stanford.
