Heading into week three, there were seemingly two great options for College GameDay - schools that had yet to be selected for the famous pregame show. One was Syracuse, which takes on Clemson at home next week. The other was Iowa State, which has rival Iowa at home.

Syracuse was routed by Maryland on Saturday, 63-20, taking away a lot of the juice for the ACC matchup. Iowa State, meanwhile, had a bye.

ESPN's decision? The show is headed to Ames, Iowa ahead of the big in-state rivalry game. The Cy-Hawk Trophy is finally getting its due.

It's the first time Iowa State has hosted College GameDay.

It's also very possible that both programs are ranked for the matchup.

Iowa has won the last four matchups between the two schools. The Hawkeyes won last year's affair 13-3 in Iowa City. They also lead the overall series 44-22.
