Alabama DL Dakota Ball Out Indefinitely After Shooting His Finger While Hunting

Alabama senior defensive lineman Dakota Ball suffered a strange injury and is considered out indefinitely heading into the College Football Playoff.

Friday night, Alabama head coach Nick Saban, in addition to informing the media of Steve Sarkisian's new position, dropped some notes on injuries the Crimson Tide is dealing with. The most noteworthy? Saban said that senior defensive lineman Dakota Ball shot his finger on a hunting trip. He doesn't know how long Ball will be out.

Ball, who is considered a backup defensive lineman, has 12 tackles and .5 sacks on the season.

Let's hope the injury isn't as serious as it sounds. Alabama's Peach Bowl contest against Washington will be on New Year's Eve.
