The Mississippi State head coach addressed the rumors.

Outside of Jon Gruden, the coach being linked to Tennessee during the Vols' search for a new leading man has probably been Dan Mullen.

Mississippi State's head coach seems primed for a jump to a bigger job.

Is he going to make that jump to Tennessee?

The Bulldogs' head coach addressed the rumors on Monday, saying he's happy at MSU.

"I love the one I have," Mullen told reporters. "I think what you see is what we’ve been able to build Mississippi State into. As I keep saying, I think everybody has an opinion in the world about what I should and shouldn’t do. People that know me and friends that have known me for a long time know I like my own opinion. I’m not really interested in other people’s opinions all that much. I like my own opinion. And my wife, I listen to her."

Mullen added that Mississippi State is a "great job" and he's paid handsomely. His $4.5 million salary is one of the 15-highest in the country and was higher than what Tennessee paid Butch Jones.

If the Volunteers are going to pluck Mullen from Starkville, they're going to have to open the checkbook.
