The Tigers’ top assistant coach has decided to stay put.
LSU is bringing out the checkbook in a big way to keep Dave Aranda in Baton Rouge, La.
The Tigers’ star defensive coordinator has decided to stay with the program, spurning an offer from Texas A&M.
He’s doing so with a big raise coming his way.
College football insider Bruce Feldman reports that Aranda has agreed to a new deal with LSU worth $2.5 million/year for four seasons.

The $2.5 million salary is by far the biggest for an assistant coach and it’s bigger than the salary of Missouri head coach Dave Odom. Aranda made $1.8 million this past season.
