On Tuesday night, the son of one of the greatest NFL players of his generation announced his commitment to a collegiate program. The son of Deion Sanders, Shilo, took to Twitter on Tuesday night to announce where he will play his college football.
Shilo is headed to South Carolina. A three-star corner recruit from Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas, Sanders held offers from 15 different programs - including his father's alma mater, Florida State.
Sanders announced his commitment with a video he posted to his Twitter account.
Check it out.
Shilo also held offers from several other big-time college football programs like Georgia, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Oregon. Despite his father's ties to Florida State and holding an offer from the Seminoles, Shilo decided to take a different path from the collegiate and NFL Hall of Famer,
Sanders is the No. 61 corner recruit in the 20198 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings. While he's not as highly-touted as his father, Sanders has good size for a corner - he stands at 6-feet tall and weighs in at 185 pounds.
Living up to the Sanders name will be difficult, but Shilo has a chance to carve out a nice role in the South Carolina secondary in the years to come.
