Dick Vitale Blasts Anonymous Coach Who Accused Nick Saban Of Cheating

Dick Vitale breaks down the 2018 NCAA Tournament bracket.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban has his share of critics. One anonymous head coach levied a pretty serious accusation earlier today.

In CBS Sports' newest addition of "Candid Coaches," Saban drew some votes for most overrated. One coach accused the six-time national champion head coach of cheating.

Here's what they said:

“If you had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country every year [you ’d win like Nick Saban]. He shows up at every single game with a better roster than the teams he ‘s playing. … If you count cheating and getting the best players in the country as part of running a program, he’s the best in the country. It’s like saying an NFL coach is the best coach in the league if he gets 25 first-round picks every year.”

Many came to Saban's defense, including ESPN's Dick Vitale. Dickie V staunchly defended Saban and blasted the rival coach on Twitter.

"These polls leave me very COLD / so much JEALOUSY / MR ANONYMOUS should go to bed / if u don’t have the facts or guts to put ur name to claims as serious as accusing ⁦@AlabamaFTBL⁩ Coach Nick Saban of cheating then just keep quiet," Vitale tweeted.

Dickie V always sticks up for coaches, given the fact he knows so many of them. He does have a point though; these opinions lose a little weight when delivered from anonymity.

Saban probably will shrug them off though. He's likely got bigger things to worry about with the season less than two weeks away.
