Duke vs. Miami preview:
The Blue Devils can play at a high level, with wins against UNC and at Notre Dame already this year, but are very inconsistent, and sit at 4-6. Freshman quarterback Daniel Jones did not expect to play much this year, but has been thrust into the starting role due to injury, and has looked pretty solid in recent weeks. Since a disastrous five-interception performance against Virginia on Oct. 1, Jones has seven touchdowns and just one pick.
It’s been a streaky season for the Hurricanes. They opened with four straight wins against Florida A&M, Florida International, Appalachian State, and Georgia Tech. Then Miami dropped four straight, starting with a loss to in-state rival Florida State, and then continuing with North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame. The Hurricanes got back on track with a big 51-28 win over Pitt three weeks ago and rattled off two straight wins against Virginia and NC State.
The Blue Devils and Hurricanes have played 13 times in history, with the Hurricanes holding an 11-2 advantage.
Duke vs. Miami prediction:
Miami is a heavy favorite in this one after rattling off three straight wins. Duke on the other hand, is on the decline and has struggled to find consistency this season.
Miami is the better team, and quarterback Brad Kaaya will improve his draft stock with a solid performance.
