Michigan backup quarterback Dylan McCaffrey has been sidelined since he suffered a concussion against Wisconsin three weeks ago. It looks like he might be back available for the team Saturday when the team takes on Illinois.
Michigan has confirmed that McCaffrey has traveled with the team to Illinois. He’s also reportedly warming up in his uniform ahead of the contest.
McCaffrey came in for a struggling Shea Patterson during the team’s game against the Badgers. Patterson has continued to struggle in the time since, so it’ll be interesting to see if head coach Jim Harbaugh opts to utilize McCaffrey against the Illini.
At any rate, it’s good to see that McCaffrey is back on the field.
Michigan spokesman confirms Dylan McCaffrey, Kwity Paye and Sean McKeon all made the trip here. Josh Ross did not. McCaffrey is in uniform and currently warming up

McCaffrey, against Wisconsin, finished 3-of-8 for 40 yards before suffering his injury. Both quarterbacks had a tough time dealing with the Badgers’ defense.
Michigan should have an easier time this week against Illinois. The Wolverines are favored by 24 points heading into the contest.
The game is set to kick off at Noon ET on ABC.
