Which teams could make a run at the 2018 College Football Playoff?

This year's College Football Playoff looks incredible on paper. Clemson and Alabama square off for the third year in a row, while Georgia's SEC champion defense faces Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield and the high-octane Oklahoma offense.

Don't get us wrong, we don't want to rush away this year's playoff, but it is never too early to look ahead to next year.

ESPN's Adam Rittenberg did just that, naming the 10 teams most ready to crash the playoff party in 2018.

Here's his list:

  • Ohio State
  • Miami (Fla.)
  • Washington
  • USC
  • Penn State
  • Michigan
  • West Virginia
  • Auburn
  • Stanford
  • Wisconsin

There's your standard amount of blue-blood programs on this list (Michigan, Ohio State, USC), as well as some teams who have knocked on the door and could be ready to kick it in, like Penn State, Wisconsin and Auburn.
