College football expert David Hale predicted which two teams will play in the ACC title game.
We’re several months away from the 2017 college football season, but let’s take a look at who could play in the ACC title game. Last year, Clemson survived a late charge from Virginia Tech to win the 2016 title by a score of 42-35.
But what will happen this season?
ESPN expert David Hale took a look at the upcoming season’s favorites to make it to the championship.
Neither division has a clear favorite at this point, which is actually a credit to the depth of the league. If I’m picking, though, I’m leaning Miami in the Coastal (I know, I know … but I’ve not picked the Hurricanes in any of my years covering the ACC, so don’t lump me in with all the others) and Florida State in the Atlantic. I love Miami’s defense, and if Mark Richt can bring along one of his young QBs, that’s going to be the most talented team in the Coastal, without question. And a developing Francois and a healthy Derwin James, to me, make Florida State my early pick for a national championship.
Miami and Florida State in the title game would be a rematch of their Sept. 16 matchup.
