With spring camps completed for many college football teams, we're starting to get a sense of what some of the teams will look like next season. Based off the early results, ESPN has decided to update its college football rankings for 2019.
On Wednesday, the latest ESPN Football Power Index was released with a preseason Top 10. Naturally, Clemson - the defending NCAA champions - were given the top spot, followed by perennial contender Alabama.
Two SEC teams rounded out the top four with Georgia at No. 3 and LSU at No. 4. The top Big Ten team is Michigan at No. 5, while the top Big 12 team is Oklahoma at No. 6.
Notre Dame comes in at No. 7.
Another two SEC titans, Florida and Auburn, come in at No. 8 and No. 9 respectively.
Pac-12 giant Oregon comes in at No. 10.
Last year, Alabama was the No. 1 ranked team in the nation for the entire season until they met Clemson in the national title game.
Clemson and Alabama are widely expected to remain as the two titans of college football until someone decisively dethrones them.
While no ACC teams have emerged as a contender to Clemson's dominance, there appear to be at least four teams in the SEC ready to pounce on any Alabama weakness.
