ESPN Names 4 Favorites To Make College Football Playoff

The 2018 college football season ended over three months ago with a Clemson Tigers national title.

College football fans are clamoring for a chance to see their teams - which some received over the weekend as spring games were in action.

ESPN is here to satiate college football fan's appetites.

Earlier this week, the Worldwide Leader revealed the playoff predictions from its computer model. The Football Power Index is a measure of team strength and seeks to predict the team's performance going forward.

According to the FPI, Clemson and Alabama are the favorites to make the national title game yet again.

Here are four favorites to make the College Football Playoff:

  1. Clemson - 83 percent chance to reach playoff
  2. Alabama - 71 percent
  3. Michigan - 41 percent
  4. Georgia - 40 percent

Oklahoma (35-percent), LSU (32), Notre Dame (28), Oregon (14), Florida (10), and Penn State (8) round out the top-10 of teams with the best chance to reach the playoff.

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers are the favorite to win the title with a 36-percent chance. Nick Saban and the Tide are right behind with a 27-percent chance.

Meanwhile, no other team in the country has a double-digit chance to take home the title - Michigan sits at No. 3 with a 7-percent chance.
