ESPN Names The 5 Teams That Will "Close Strong" On Recruiting Front

These five schools are hot on the trail.

We're just one week away from the final Signing Day. High school recruits will decide where they want to play their college football.

Four 5-star recruits remain up for grabs, while plenty of other names are on the board for top teams. Alabama, who sat outside the top-10 for much of the recruiting process, has closed strong.

The Tide sit at No. 6 on 247Sports' team rankings, but are in the hunt for several top players. Can Nick Saban and company ride a late hot streak to another top-3 class?

ESPN looked at the impending deadline, and which teams could finish strong. The Worldwide Leader named five teams that are in line to close the recruiting process well.

  • Alabama
  • LSU
  • Tennessee
  • Texas A&M
  • USC

A&M needs the most help going forward. After landing Jimbo Fisher, the Aggies have struggled on the recruiting trail, but could use a strong finish to land a top-20 class.

Meanwhile, Saban is looking to avoid ending an incredible streak. Alabama has landed the No. 1 class in the nation every year under Saban since 2010.

LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and USC all sit outside the top-10, but a strong close could lead to top classes for LSU and USC. Tennessee and A&M still have plenty of work to do.
