At 8-0 on the season and with several wins over ranked teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes control their own destiny in the national title race.

But which teams should Ohio State fans root for to make the road easier? This is a question that ESPN's Heather Dinich asked in a recent feature.

Dinich asserted that Ohio State should be rooting for the Cincinnati Bearcats to have a great season. She explained that their dominating, 42-0 win over the AAC East leaders will look great on their resume.

Cheer for: Cincinnati

...Each week, the Buckeyes' 42-0 win over the Bearcats on Sept. 7 is looking better, and without any nonconference wins over Power 5 opponents, Ohio State needs it. Cincinnati could wind up being another CFP top-25 victory for the Buckeyes. Ohio State is off this weekend; Cincy is at East Carolina. What else are you gonna do?

The Buckeyes have a bye this week before they finish the year against Maryland, Rutgers, Penn State and Michigan. The latter two are both ranked in the top 25, and could provide just the boost they need to their resume in the event of a stunning loss along the way.

But if Ohio State wins the Big Ten title as an undefeated team, they'll be in the College Football Playoff for sure.

Needless to say, a little help couldn't hurt.
