Longtime ESPN play-by-play announcer Brent Musburger has signed a multi-year contract extension with the network, it was announced today.

According to a press release, Musburger will stay on as the lead announcer for the SEC Network.
“The SEC is the best football conference in the country. You can’t beat it,” Musburger said. “Terrific football, clearly—year in and year out. The conference has been tremendous to work with. I’m glad the SEC Network is such a great success. It’s been great working with Jesse Palmer.”
The 77-year-old Musburger will also continue his work for weekly college basketball contests on ESPN, which means get ready for some more epic Big 12 clashes on Big Monday with him on the mic.
Musburger has been with ABC Sports and ESPN since 1990 after working for CBS Sports from 1973-1990.
