The second week of the college football season is in the books. With two weeks of action in the rearview, several title contenders have serious questions to answer.
Among them are the Michigan Wolverines, who own one of the hardest schedules in college football over the next couple months. Jim Harbaugh and company have trips to Wisconsin and Penn State and also have Ohio State left on the schedule.
However, the Wolverines don’t own the hardest schedule in the country. That honor belongs to South Carolina.
ESPN’s computer model took a look at the remaining schedules for every team in the country.
In doing so, the model predicted which teams have the most-difficult road ahead. According to the Football Power Index, the Gamecocks the most-difficult schedule remaining.
The rest of the season won’t be kind to the Gamecocks and it starts this weekend when Alabama comes to town.
But the Gamecocks aren’t alone. A few other teams will struggle through the rest of the season as well – including Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs.
Here’s the top 10:
- South Carolina
- Arizona State
- Penn State
Ohio State just missed the list, coming in at No. 11. The Buckeyes are the favorite to come out of the Big Ten East after a hot start to the season.
