College football is back. In just a few days the official start of Week 1 of the college football season will be here with a slate of games scheduled for Thursday night.

Ahead of the upcoming season, ESPN's Football Power Index projected the winners of every game. There are several huge matchups to start the season, with Michigan taking on Notre Dame, Auburn and Washington facing off in a non-conference battle, and Miami up against LSU.

The FPI's prediction for Miami-LSU shouldn't be too much of a surprise. The Hurricanes are favored in the contest by Vegas, and the FPI agrees.

LSU and Miami prediction from ESPN.

LSU sports a brand new quarterback in Ohio State transfer Joe Burrow. Burrow backed up longtime Buckeyes QB J.T. Barrett, but transferred ahead of the 2018 season.

Miami enters the season at No. 8 in the AP Poll and had College Football Playoff aspirations midway through the 2017 season. Head coach Mark Richt is hoping to keep those aspirations alive with a solid showing against a tough opponent in the season opener.

LSU and Miami kick off from the Dallas Cowboys' home in Arlington, Tx., AT&T Stadium on Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ABC.
