Week 12 of the 2018 college football season wasn't supposed to provide a ton of excitement, as there weren't very many intriguing matchups on the schedule, but it ended up being a pretty great week.

There were a few upsets and plenty of exciting contests.

ESPN has updated its rankings following the 12th week of the season.

Here's the new top 10:

  1. Clemson
  2. Alabama
  3. Georgia
  4. Michigan
  5. Oklahoma
  6. Notre Dame
  7. Ohio State
  8. Penn State
  9. Mississippi State
  10. West Virginia

Clemson over Alabama in the No. 1 spot is really interesting, as is Mississippi Sate being ranked inside the top 10.

This is just ESPN's computer, though, so the actual new rankings will probably look different.

The new Coaches' Poll and AP Poll come out at noon and 2 p.m. E.T.
