After starting their 2018 season with a loss to Notre Dame, the Michigan Wolverines have won three consecutive games in convincing fashion. Now that conference play is in full swing, Jim Harbaugh's crew will take on Northwestern this Saturday.

Last weekend, Michigan won 56-10 over Nebraska, as it excelled in every phase of the game. The same statement can't be said for Northwestern, who suffered an ugly defeat against Akron.

With the Wolverines and Wildcats heading in completely opposite directions, ESPN's matchup predictor believes that Michigan will improve their record to 4-1.

Right now, the FPI gives Michigan an 84.2 percent chance of winning.

While Michigan is definitely trending in the right direction, the team is still waiting for Shea Patterson to have a breakout performance. Considering that Northwestern's pass defense allows 250.3 yards per game, the Wolverines could find success through the air.

Michigan and Northwestern will kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET. The game will be available on FOX.
