“I am going to take some time away to focus on my health and my family,” McShay wrote. “Thank you ESPN for being so supportive and for all the well wishes – I can’t wait to be back on the sidelines soon.”
McShay has been an excellent sideline reporter and NFL Draft analyst for ESPN. However, fans were worried about his health because of his segment during the Alabama-Miami game this past Saturday.
Immediately after McShay announced that he’s taking time away from work to focus on his health, ESPN released a brief statement on social media.
“Todd has ESPN’s full support as he steps away at this time to focus on his health and his family,” ESPN said in a statement.

Several members of the ESPN family have sent their well wishes to McShay.
“All the best to you, Todd,” Field Yates said. “Know you will be back soon enough and ready to keep doing the amazing work you do.”
“Feel better,” Kevin Negandhi wrote. “Your health and family are the most important things bro.”
We’re hopeful McShay will make a full recovery and return to the sidelines so he can do what he loves.
