Week two of the 2019 college football season brought some interesting results, including a statement victory by LSU on the road against Texas. Tuesday, ESPN updated its power rankings for the SEC to reflect the big win.
Alabama and Georgia, who met in last year’s SEC title game, remain No. 1 and No. 2 respectively despite the fact that neither has played an overly difficult game this season.
LSU, after its win over Texas, moves up to No. 3. Auburn, which scored a huge come-from-behind victory against Oregon in week one, drops a spot to No. 4.
Florida moves up one spot to No. 5 – mostly because Texas A&M lost to Clemson. The Aggies check in at No. 6 despite an ugly loss to Clemson on the road.
Mississippi State, Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina round out the top 10. The bottom four are Ole Miss, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Tennessee. The Vols have now suffered losses to Georgia State and BYU. They appear to be in some real trouble this year.

LSU’s win should put a little more excitement on the team’s annual matchup with Alabama. The Tigers will need to knock off the Crimson Tide to wind up in the College Football Playoff.
