ESPN's College GameDay made a surprising pick for its Week 9 destination, as the college football pregame show is heading Brookings, South Dakota for a game between North Dakota State and South Dakota State.

The show's Week 10 destination could be a surprising one, too.

ESPN is hinting at going to Memphis for the Tigers' game against SMU.

Kirk Herbstreit said he would love to be there.

Brad Carson, a Memphis sports reporter, says he spoke to ESPN, confirming that they're considering it. "Just spoke with an ESPN Exec. He confirmed Memphis is absolutely in the meeting now for next week’s Gameday as Bear, Herbstreit, etc have teased. The very obvious thing is they both need to win this week. Decision hasn’t been made yet though. Go Mustangs (this week), Go Tigers," he reports.

The Memphis-SMU game should be a lot of fun, but it would be pretty surprising to see GameDay go back-to-back weeks at non-Power Five destinations.

ESPN's College GameDay airs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. E.T.
