ESPN's College GameDay Made A Brutal Mistake This Morning
On Saturday morning, ESPN's College GameDay kicked off from Orlando ahead of UCF's contest against Cincinnati. The show has a long-standing gag running with the university which claims it won a national title in 2017 despite not playing in the College Football Playoff.
During the show, ESPN showed a graphic touting UCF's winning streak as the longest by a Florida school since Florida won 22-straight from 2008-09.
There's only one problem with that. Florida State has a more-recent winning streak that wasn't mentioned.
The Seminoles won 29-straight games from 2012-2014 until the team was destroyed by Oregon in the very first College Football Playoff in 2014.
Not a great look for College GameDay.
Florida State takes on Boston College this afternoon. If the Seminoles lose, they'll miss a bowl game for the first time in 37 years.
Meanwhile, UCF takes on Cincinnati with the hopes of extending its winning-streak. The Knights and Bearcats kick off at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
