ESPN's FPI Likes Ohio State This Fall

Here's who the FPI likes as the preseason No. 1 team.

We're roughly a month away from the start of the 2017 college football season. There are now just four more Saturdays without a full slate of college football. Get excited, people.

Alabama is the popular preseason No. 1 team in most analysts' top 25s, but ESPN's computer has another team in mind.

The Football Power Index likes Ohio State more than any other squad heading into the fall.

The Buckeyes have a 29.1 FPI rating, three points higher than Alabama at No. 2 and six points higher than Florida State at No. 3.

The FPI gives Ohio State a 35 percent chance to go undefeated - it's by far the best chance of any team in the country. It also gives the Buckeyes a 70.9 percent chance to win the Big Ten.

Ohio State opens its season on Thursday, Aug. 31 against Indiana.
