ESPN’s FPI Reveals The Conference Favorites Headed Into The 2017 Season

Here’s who ESPN likes to win each Power 5 conference.

It’s been nearly four months since we’ve seen a college football game — and we’re missing it big time. With five months left until the 2017 season begins, we’re getting used to life without college football on Saturdays.

Except, we’re not.

We’re looking forward to the 2017 season, and we’re sure you are too. So let’s dive into which teams have the best chance to win their respective conference.

ESPN released its new Football Power Index (FPI) which gives the percent-chance that a team will win its conference.

So who are the conference favorites headed into this season?

ACC:

  • Florida State has a 49% chance to win

Big 12:

  • Oklahoma has a 77% chance to win

Big Ten:

  • Ohio State has a 69% chance to win

Pac-12:

  • USC has a 34% chance to win

SEC:

  • Alabama has a 47% chance to win

Oklahoma is the clear favorite in the Big 12, meanwhile Ohio State is the odds-on favorite to take the Big Ten this year. The Sooners travel to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes in Week 2, and the winner has a great chance to finish the season undefeated.

Meanwhile, Alabama and Florida State open the season with a bang on September 2 when the two teams meet in Atlanta.
