West Virginia is entering the 2018 season with high expectations. The Mountaineers are ranked in the preseason top 25 and considered a contender in the Big 12. Will Grier, the team's star QB, is a Heisman Trophy candidate.
WVU opens the 2018 season on a big stage, too.
Dana Holgorsen's team is set to take on Tennessee Week 1.
West Virginia is considered a sizable favorite on Saturday, but Kirk Herbstreit is seeing this game as a possible upset.
"Wouldn't surprise me if Tennessee gives West Virginia a run for their money in Week 1. A lot of hype for Will Grier and rightfully so but the Vols still have some serious athletes," Herbstreit said this morning.
Herbstreit will officially make his pick on Saturday, but it's looking like this one might be an upset pick.
West Virginia and Tennessee are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. E.T. The game will be on CBS.
