ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit Is Putting These 3 Teams On "Upset Alert" Today

ESPN's College GameDay live from Eugene, Oregon is underway this morning. It's 6 a.m. local time in Eugene, but the Ducks have showed up in full force. It should be a really fun show.

Kirk Herbstreit just ran down his list of potential upsets for today's slate of games. He's placing three teams on "upset alert."

The following three teams on upset alert:

  • No. 23 Boston College at Purdue
  • No. 14 Mississippi State at Kentucky
  • No. 8 Notre Dame at Wake Forest

Herbstreit predicted Notre Dame to get upset by Vanderbilt last weekend, but the Fighting Irish ended up emerging with a close victory. He swears he's not "picking on" Notre Dame, but rather believes that Brian Kelly's team is just vulnerable.

"Right now, in college football, you’ve got to be able to play offense and defense or it’s going to catch up to you,” Herbstreit said this week. “After three weeks, Notre Dame’s defense has played inspired at home. They’ve looked very good, championship-worthy, but the jury is out on their offense. Right now, they’re one dimensional.”
